Meet our interpreter
Missy Keast!
Missy Keast, was born Deaf, has 4 older siblings one of whom is also Deaf. She has spent most of her life telling stories. Encouraged by friends and family she has become “The Shakespeare of Sign Language.” She attended National Theatre of the Deaf in 1993 to 1994. She also published a book, “One Day: Our View”. A photo documentary of global deaf culture during the 24 hours of May 1, 1997.
While resident in Los Angeles, she worked as docent at The Getty Center for two years. She also interned at National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. and also interned in Archives at Gallaudet University in 1984 to 1987. She majored in Art History and Museum Studies at Gallaudet University however, transferred to Arizona State University with the B.A. in History.
She is a mother to 3 girls ages 17, 15 and 10. As a mom, she manages to keep her online ASL curriculum for anyone who wants to learn American Sign Language. www.aslinside.com

During two evenings, she continues her black belt martial arts (Shorin-Ryu) training.
